I am an old-school kind of carpenter. Like my father and his father before him, my designs begin with a pencil and a sketchbook. Once the concept is completed the actual item is cut out using various saws and other cutting tools (depending on the work), then sanded down, assembled, and finished all by hand.

This process makes each piece unique and one of a kind. Handcrafted means a person took the time and care to create an individual item, which cannot be said for anything being manufactured and mass produced in a factory or by someone using a computer to do the work.

Most items also have an original, hand-painted design applied to them.These designs are also developed by using a pencil and sketchbook. Many sketches are created until the final one is fully realized. Then it is transferred on to the product using chalk and painted. This process makes each hand-painted design as unique as the product it has been applied to.
